Cranson Capital Securities is a boutique investment banking firm based out of downtown Toronto focused on syndicating accredited investors into private placements for large scale real estate developments and investments, financial services businesses, and growth orientated companies. Cranson Capital offers its investors the ability to participate in private investments that are uncorrelated with public markets, allow diversification within a traditional portfolio and have the potential to deliver higher returns.


The Director, Investment Banking is a licensed Dealing Representative (DR) whose responsibility is to market these exclusive private investment opportunities with care and professionalism to existing and new high net worth clients. The successful candidates will also manage the ongoing client relationships and ensure that the Cranson brand is protected throughout the relationship.


Cranson Capital Securities is currently hiring Directors, Investment Banking in the follow markets:

  • Vancouver, British Columbia
  • Calgary/Edmonton, Alberta
  • Montreal, Quebec


  • Maintain and grow strong relationships with new and existing investors by exhibiting an unparalleled focus on client service giving you trusted advisor status with your clients
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to foster and grow an investor network (including institutions) which is able to absorb our growing pipeline of private investments in real estate, financial services and high growth companies
  • Clearly and succinctly communicate with investors regarding industry and economic trends, deal financials and structuring (including return analysis), investment performance, as well as individual investment and portfolio risk
  • Clearly articulate Cranson offerings to investors and ensure all required paperwork is thoroughly completed and submitted in a timely manner
  • Succinctly document all customer communication and profiles in the company’s CRM platform
  • Adhere to all company processes and compliance policies including “Know Your Customer (KYC)” procedures which determine client suitability for investments
  • Adhere to the “Know Your Product (KYP)” procedures to understand the structure and complexity of individual transactions

 Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the financial services or real estate industries in a client facing capacity with a proven track record of exceeding customer acquisition targets
  • Proven track record of providing exceptional customer service
  • Exempt Market Products (EMP) designation (can be obtained prior to start date)
  • Passion for selling combined with highly developed interpersonal skills which bring comfort in investor interactions whether they are one on one or in a public speaking format
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Outlook
  • Technical aptitude which provides the ability to quickly pick up new software such as databases, CRMs, and online deal rooms
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit and drive to take the initiative while displaying sound judgement
  • Ability to work with a high level of independence
  • Well organized, able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Experience in real estate is an asset
  • Ability to access an existing network of high net worth investors is a definite asset
  • Strong connections in large ethnic communities is an asset
  • Business degree or financial designation required
